Brookings Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is seeking an Administrative & Marketing Assistant to provide support for important community projects. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, assertive, results oriented individual with a wide variety of skills who can learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision.

The Administrative & Marketing Assistant will be assigned an extensive and diverse list of projects to assist staff in the development and implementation of BEDC’s work program and its four main categories of community development, workforce development, entrepreneur support, and business development.

Desired Experience: basic bookkeeping, marketing including social media, data entry, event planning and organizing, project-related research and general office and receptionist duties such as email and phone correspondence, and meeting and appointment scheduling.

Required Skills: excellent attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational planning, problem solving and decision-making skills, proven time management and multitasking abilities, ability to display creativity and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Schedule: Hours are flexible within a normal workday (8am-5pm Monday through Friday), approximately 20 hours per week.

Requirements

Proven experience in a related field or area. High school diploma or equivalent required, college or technical degree preferred.
