Job Responsibilities:  Provide post-award financial management of grants and sponsored funding to include review, reconciliation, invoicing and financial reporting; review, approve and assist in the development of grant proposal budgets; track expenditure transfers onto federal funds; implement new grant and contract funds; amend and extend existing grant and contract funds; assist principal investigators and departmental financial staff in interpreting university and funding agency policies and guidelines to ensure financial compliance.

Grant and sponsored funding
Federal regulations and sponsor requirements
Microsoft Excel

Skill & Ability to:   

Interpret and apply policies and procedures
Investigate, analyze and solve problems
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Learn new skills and quickly absorb new information
Organize and prioritize tasks to meet competing deadlines

Comments:  Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred. This position is classified as a Grant & Loan Specialist I.  SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
