Job Responsibilities:  The purpose of this position is to operate, maintain and repair hydronic heating and cooling systems including pumps, expansion tanks, air separators, air vents, steam traps and valves. This position will also maintain air conditioning equipment from small fractional horsepower compressors up to 500 to chillers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

HVAC and control systems for both small and large commercial sized equipment
Hydronic systems
Computers and computer systems for managing work orders

Skill & Ability to:

Keep all temperature control systems, heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems adjusted, calibrated and reliably operational
Diagnose problems, repair and maintain specialized HVAC equipment and systems
Install new systems and controls
Maintain records and order inventory and supplies
Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Work independently and part of a team

Required license: Valid driver’s license is required. Refrigeration certification is required or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment is required.

Comments: Commercial HVAC experience is preferred. We provide all the tools you need to do your job, including a vehicle and mobile devices. Position is subject to On Call Duty for emergency problems. SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
