Job Responsibilities: Support and maintain computers, laboratory information management system (LIMS/VADDS) software, and other electronic equipment, for the veterinary science department and the Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory. Assist staff and faculty with their software and other electronic needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Customer service practices
General web knowledge and webpage development
General office equipment
Database architecture and design
Skill & Ability to:
Assist clients, staff, and faculty support for different types of software, equipment, and instrumentation
Backup and learn the LIMS for the Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory for messaging of results, accessioning, troubleshooting, and all other aspects of this essential laboratory and client medical/veterinary based informational software
Assist researchers in software development/programming
Develop a user-friendly website for the department and laboratory
Prioritize work to meet competing deadlines
Work with a wide range of technologies and users
Communicate clearly and concisely
Create tools for clients and staff to move data quickly
Develop new methods to receive, send, and analyze data
