Salary Range CG DH: $12.39 – $14.85/hour depending upon qualifications, plus benefits

SDSU’s H.M. Briggs Library is currently seeking a Library Technician with a strong attention to detail and a desire to help others.

Job Responsibilities:  The primary emphasis of this position is to process the 200+ annual invoices that provide access to the library’s 100,000 journal and database subscriptions. The position will also engage in verifying access to electronic resources, updating Open PRAIRIE, and assisting at the library’s front desk.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

·         Computer software applications and systems (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Skill & Ability to:   

·         Learn and work within several online software platforms and with various task-oriented applications including: an integrated library system, electronic resource management tools, scanning software, and Adobe software suites

·         Communicate and work with third-party vendor representatives to resolve subscription issues

·         Learn and develop metadata

·         Effectively communicate and collaborate with others including library personnel and students/patrons

·         Follow instructions, meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize job duties as necessary. 

Desired:  Knowledge of or experience with

·         Library practices and procedures

·         Basic recordkeeping procedures

·         Customer service
