Job Responsibilities:  This position will provide day-to-day supervision and coordination of the Specimen Receiving/Processing team which serves as the diagnostic communication center for the SD Animal Disease Research & Diagnostic Lab. This position will be responsible for developing, engaging, and motivating teamwork between laboratory technicians and students to ensure that accurate and timely goals are met for veterinary clinics and livestock producers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of: 

Computer software and systems (LIMS, Microsoft Office Suite, Docu-Sign, Banner)
Multi-line phones
UPS and Federal Express processes
Conflict management and resolution techniques
Effective supervision techniques

Skill & Ability to:   

Develop and maintain respectable, responsible relationships with staff and the public
Communicate effectively with staff and the public
Organize work effectively
Work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Maintain accurate records

Required License:  Valid Driver’s License.

Comments: Possible overtime and weekends dependent on workload. A rabies vaccination is required. Laboratory or medical knowledge/experience is preferred. SDSU is a tobacco free environment.
