SDSU, ranked the #2 Best Employer in the State of South Dakota by Forbes, is seeking a detail oriented individual with strong customer service skills to join our Academic Shared Service Center as a Program Assistant I.
Job Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for the day-to-day human resource activities in the Academic Shared Service Center (ASSC) including working with assigned units, departments, and schools to perform human resources business activities in an environment of excellent client service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Human Resource functions in the areas of recruitment, onboarding and training
Payroll functions and practices
Database development and maintenance
Computer software applications and systems (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Skill & Ability to:
Serve as a liaison for assigned departments and provide assistance to employees and supervisors
Interpret, explain and enforce policies, rules and regulations
Develop work procedures
Ensure consistent application of rules, procedures and practices
Handle confidential and sensitive situations in an appropriate manner
Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
Establish excellent working relationships with supervisors, SDSU HR and Payroll
Operate in a large organization
Change tasks frequently and effectively
Manage large amounts of work and data
Maintain database tracking licenses, certificates and required training
Comments: Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills are essential. Work environment requires strong time management and productivity skills.
